To most of us it is well known that Russia’s darkest period was during the rule of communism regime, especially the period of Stalin’s rule.Stalin’s communist regime had zero tolerance for any other political opinion so everyone who opposed and questioned the ideas of communism was declared enemy of the state. Stalin was known by his cruel rule and he was especially cruel against those who didn’t like his ideas. During his regime, there were plenty of prisons which were full of political convicts. One of such prisons was Obdorsk prison which, as many other prisons, was also place where convicts were executed on a daily basis. The prison was built in period between 1937 and 1939. After the end of Stalin’s rule, prison became a mental hospital. Today, those buildings are abandoned but there are still traces of cruel happenings which occurred in that place.
